Life[edit] Miller graduated from Wesleyan University. He worked for The Record of Hackensack, New Jersey, and at The Times Union of Albany, New York. He was a reporter with the Los Angeles Times from 1987 to 2008, and at its Washington bureau. He is on the advisory board of the Center for News Literacy, at Stony Brook University.[2] The News Literacy Project conducts programs with middle school and high school students, about media literacy.[3]


Awards[edit] 1996 George Polk Award 1997 Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting 2002 Investigative Reporters and Editors Medal, for breaking the 1996 Democratic National Committee campaign finance scandal. 2003 Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting, for the series on the Marine Corps McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II
